Youtube To Support 1080p HD Video Format
Youtube To Support 1080p HD Video Format Starting Next Week. Back in July, Youtube introduced the “watch in HD” feature that allowed users to view certain videos in the 720p format. According to Youtube officials, the full HD format (aka 1080p) will be taking 720’s place as the HD format as of next week.
As noted on the official Youtube blog, the upgrade comes as a necessity, considering the fact that the “full HD” camcorders are very common and a lot of people are using them for the clips that they will later upload to Youtube.

If the uploaded video is in 720p, it will still be displayed in that format, with the 1080p format being shown only if supported by the uploaded video (seems logical). Unfortunately, those of you with low internet speeds will have some problems with loading a full video as the size is considerably larger.
