MacBook Pro will possible get Intel processor from i5 and i7. Intel is planning to release three Arrandale based processors on January 3rd, based on the advanced Nehalem architecture. These processors were introduced into desktop Macs earlier this year. The new line of processors will get a significant performance improvement over the Core 2 Duo processors that are currently found in Apple’s MacBook Pros.
The processors will be branded under the “Core i5? and “Core i7?, with internal clock range from 2.4GHz to 2.66GHz. The hardware will have prices ranging from $225 to $332 in quantities of 1000. TDP (thermal design power) of 35W matches up with the current high-end processors used in the MacBook Pro. These processors will probably have also low- voltage versions, good for the ultra-thin MacBook Air. Apple looked more and more interested in Intel processors, since the Power PC G5 from IBM ,were let somewhere behind, because its problems with heat. More power, more energy efficiency on new Macs, now if they will be equipped with the new generation of processors.
